While exploring the GDC Expo floor, one of the highlights is GDC Play—where emerging developers get to introduce the game community to their exciting work. Several indie devs have already signed up to showcase their games—and there's still time to add yours to the line-up!
GDC Play at the 2022 Game Developers Conference features innovative projects from emerging and independent developers. Attendees can play the games and meet the people who created them in this interactive showcase on the GDC Expo floor. The Expo is available for all pass holders, and there will be an Online Expo for those attending virtually.
A select number of games featured in the GDC Play expo will be awarded Best in Play, with the recipients receiving All-Access Passes to the 2023 Game Developers Conference. Winners also get special "Best in Play" designations they can attach to their tables at GDC 2022. Out of the 8 “Best in Play” exhibitors, attendees can vote on their favorite through the event platform. The attendee-favorite winner will win an additional pass to 2023.
This year, developers include Autodidactic Studios, Brazil Games, Kimchi Corp, LLC, Knightmare Games, Tandemi, Zugalu Entertainment, and more. Indie developers eager to exhibit at GDC Play have until Friday, February 11 at 11:59pm PT to register. Head here to request more information!
In addition, GDC Expo also hosts GDC Pitch on the Industry Stage, the popular game pitch-off designed to help select participants practice their game-pitching skills. This year, eight studios will solicit their games in front of a live audience—followed by questions, advice, and feedback. Then, the judges will declare the day's "Best Pitch" and award two free GDC 2023 All-Access passes. Developers have until Friday, February 11 at 11:59pm PT to apply for one of those five spots. If your studio is interested in joining GDC Pitch, inquire about GDC Play here.
